Rapper Eminem Ready To Relapse

Posted on March 07 2009 at 02:58 PM

Eminem, the biggest selling music artist of the decade, officially announced the street date of his eagerly awaited new album; his first original studio album in over four years. Relapse will be released on May 19, 2009. The first single from the album and its accompanying video will see a simultaneous release on April 7th.

Anticipation for Relapse has been building since the fall, when Eminem first announced the album title and debuted the freestyle, "I'm Having A Relapse," during an interview on his Shade 45 satellite radio station. Last month, the release of "Crack A Bottle" from Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent brought that anticipation to a head. The track soared to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 (Eminem's second #1 after 2002's "Lose Yourself") and set a Nielsen SoundScan record for opening week download sales (418,000). The recording ranked third in the history of all weekly download sales. "Crack A Bottle" will be included as an album track on Relapse.

With the announcement of the release date for Relapse also comes confirmation of something that had been rumored in recent weeks: Eminem is already working on a follow-up album, Relapse 2, that fans can expect in the second half of 2009. "A lot of people were expecting Relapse to drop last year," said Eminem. "I was one of them. Then Dre and I went back in the studio in September for a few days, and that turned into six months. We were on such a roll; we wound up with a ton of new music produced by Dre. Putting out Relapse 2 will let everyone get all of the best stuff."

To date, Eminem has sold more than 75,000,000 albums worldwide.

Fall Out Boy Online Game A Hit

Posted on March 07 2009 at 02:31 PM

Fall Out Boy launched their highly anticipated online game Fall Out Boy Trail earlier this week and their fans are flocking in droves to FriendsOrEnemies.com to play.

In just 72 hours since its launch, more than 250,000 fans have jumped onboard the Fall Out Boy Trail with the hopes of winning tickets to the band's upcoming North America Tour titled, "Believers Never Die Part Deux." The tour features support acts Cobra Starship, All Time Low, Metro Station and Hey Monday. The "Believers Never Die Part Deux" tour supports the band's newest release, FOLIE A DEUX, and current single "America's Suitehearts."

Fall Out Boy bassist, Pete Wentz, said, "I can't help it. I wish we could've put this thing out on a floppy disk that you had to flip over right in the middle. Besides FOB is better in 8bit in every single way."

A parody of the classic educational computer game, Oregon Trail, the Fall Out Boy customized version created especially for FriendsOrEnemies.com features band members Pete Wentz, Patrick Stump, Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman, as well as Perez Hilton, Barack Obama and several other friends of the band. Players can also stream and purchase music from FOLIE A DEUX as they play, and everyone who successfully navigates their way on the Fall Out Boy Trail will automatically be entered for the chance to win tickets for the "Believers Never Die Part Deux" Tour which kicks off on April 3 in Mesa, Az.

Launched in 2006, FriendsOrEnemies.com (FOE) has become the new backstage pass for music fans and lurkers, giving them the chance to experience what their favorite artists are doing when they're being the rock stars they are.
